On May 5th and 6th 2017 two applied scientific conferences took place at the Research Institute of Orthopaedics and Trauma Surgery in Tashkent, Uzbekistan and at the Samarkand Regional Hospital for Orthopaedics and Trauma Effects in Samarkand, Uzbekistan. Both were organized by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan. In the framework of the conference scientific lectures on the subject of “Surgical MIBRAR® Method – Micro-Invasive Biological Regenerative Autologous Reconstruction. The practical implementation of the MIBRAR® Method in the the Republic of Uzbekistan” were presented to the audience.
The objective of the Usbek delegation of the scientific conference was to exchange the long-term experience of leading German Experts in the very complex area of orthopaedics, trauma surgery and neurosurgery. Emphasis was put on the application and implementation of the Micro-Invasive Biological Regenerative Autologous Reconstruction MIBRAR®.
The delegates from the the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan as well as leading specialists of the Research Institute of Orthopaedics and Trauma Surgery in Tashkent, Uzbekistan und the Samarkand Regional Hospital for Orthopaedics and Trauma Effects in Samarkand, Uzbekistan were attending the Conference. The main speaker was expert and chief surgeon of The Spine and Joints Center Munich WGZM Prof. Dr. med. Dr. h. c. (SMUJ) Arsen Babayan. He is the the developer of the MIBRAR® method.
The agenda of the conference was split into three thematic sections reflecting the Taschkent Research Institute and the Samarkand Regional Hospital focus areas of orthopaedics, trauma surgery and neurosurgery.
In the first part of the session the Uzbek party presented the surgical methods which are currently applied in Uzbikistan.
In the second part of the session Professor Babayan presented the most important modern surgical methods for traumatic injuries and degenerative spinal and joint diseases in Germany exemplified by case studies.
As a conference result, it was decided to establish two research teams in Tashkent and Samarkand for the exploration and implementation of the MIBRAR® Method in Uzbekistan headed by Professor Babayan. In the future, it is planned to perform ambulatory surgery and to train specialists in Uzbekistan, as well as treatments of Uzbek patients in Munich and guest visitits of Usbek medical doctors to Germany.
